The World Health Organization (WHO) in 2000 ranked the U.S. health care system first in both responsiveness and expenditure, but 37th in overall performance and 72nd by overall level of health (among 191 member nations included in the study).

Capitalism

On September 5, 2008, the United States Department of Labour issued a report that its unemployment rate rose to 6.1%, the highest in five years

When Franklin Delano Roosevelt took office on March 4, 1933, the nation was deeply troubled. All banks were closed and no checks could be cashed. The unemployment rate was 25% and higher in major industrial and mining centres. Farm prices had fallen in half. Overall prices had plunged by over 20%, making debts harder to bear and making planning difficult.

Economy Act: Cutting the salaries of government employees and cutting pensions to veterans by fifteen percent. It saved $500 million per year.

The first hundred days produced a federal program to raise farm incomes by raising the prices farmers received, which was achieved by reducing total farm output. The Agricultural Adjustment Act created the Agricultural Adjustment Administration(AAA) in May 1933. The act reflected the demands of leaders of major farm organizations.

Emergency Banking Act.: The act allowed a plan that would close down insolvent banks and reorganize and reopen those banks strong enough to survive.

Must add that China was only able to achieve high growth rates after it’s economy was greatly liberalized. Must show longer trends to show better long-term trends and compare the economic freedom index with the human freedom index. Sweden is a much better example of socialism and Hong Kong is a much better example of capitalism.
